Yuto Suzuki's Popular Manga Series Gets Anime Adaptation
WEB Sakamoto Days follows Taro Sakamoto, a retired hitman who becomes a store clerk.
WEB Sakamoto Days is a popular Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki. It has been serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since November 2020. The series has been collected into seven volumes as of October 2022.
The story follows Taro Sakamoto, a former legendary hitman considered the greatest in the world. After retiring from his life of crime, Sakamoto opened a convenience store in order to live a peaceful life. However, his past catches up with him when his former colleagues come looking for him.
WEB Sakamoto Days has been praised for its action, comedy, and heartwarming characters. The series has been nominated for several awards, including the Kodansha Manga Award and the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.
In addition to the manga, WEB Sakamoto Days is also getting an anime adaptation. The anime is scheduled to premiere in April 2023.
