Saka Rescues England, Scores Late Equalizer Against Switzerland

Bukayo Saka's Late Goal Sends England To Semi-Finals

Bukayo Saka scored a late equalizer against Switzerland to rescue England's hopes of reaching the semi-finals of Euro 2024. The Arsenal winger came off the bench in the second half and made an immediate impact, dribbling past Michel Aebischer four times in the first half—the most one player has beaten another in a single match in the tournament. Saka's goal came in the 89th minute, and it was his second of the tournament. He also scored in England's opening match against Croatia.

England will now face Portugal in the semi-finals on Wednesday. Portugal reached the semi-finals by defeating Belgium 2-1 in the other quarterfinal match.

The match was played in front of a sell-out crowd at Wembley Stadium. The atmosphere was electric, and the fans were treated to a thrilling match. England started the match brightly and took the lead in the 20th minute through a Harry Kane penalty. However, Switzerland equalized just before half-time through a Breel Embolo goal.

The second half was a more even affair, but it was England who created the better chances. Saka came close to scoring on several occasions, but he was denied by the Swiss goalkeeper, Yann Sommer. However, Saka eventually got his goal in the 89th minute, and it was enough to send England to the semi-finals.

England manager Gareth Southgate was delighted with his team's performance. He said: "I'm so proud of the players. They showed great character and determination to come back from behind and win the match. We're now one step away from the final, and we're going to give it everything we've got."

England captain Harry Kane echoed Southgate's comments. He said: "We knew it was going to be a tough match, but we showed great character to come back from behind and win. We're now one step away from the final, and we're going to give it everything we've got."
