Former UNC football linebacker Tomon Fox has been released by the New York Giants, the team announced on Tuesday.

Fox, who was a standout linebacker for the Tar Heels from 2017 to 2021, signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2022.

He played in 12 games for the Giants last season, primarily on special teams.

Fox's release comes as the Giants continue to trim their roster down to the 53-man limit.

The Giants are expected to make several more roster moves before the start of the regular season.
