Bayern Conquer Tottenham In Seven Goal Thriller

Bayern conquer Tottenham in seven-goal thriller

Serge Gnabry scores four as German champions run riot in London

Tottenham Hotspur conceded seven goals at home for the first time in a major competition as Serge Gnabry came back to haunt his former club with four goals in Bayern Munich's 7-2 victory in the Visit Malta Cup.

The result was Tottenham's heaviest defeat since a 7-1 loss to Newcastle in 1995, and it was the first time they had conceded seven goals at home since a 7-1 defeat to Arsenal in 1935.

Gnabry, who joined Bayern from Arsenal in 2017, scored four goals in the first half, including a hat-trick in the space of just eight minutes. Robert Lewandowski added two more goals for Bayern, while Joshua Kimmich also got on the scoresheet.

Tottenham's goals came from Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura, but the hosts were outclassed by a Bayern team that was far superior in every department.

The result leaves Tottenham bottom of their Champions League group with just one point from their first three games. They will need to win their remaining three games to have any chance of reaching the knockout stages.
